Matthias Rath and Totilas Win Grand Prix Freestyle at Hagen CDI4*
Germany – After an eight-month break from competition, Germany’s Matthias Rath and Totilas went back into the show ring at the Horses & Dreams Hagen CDI4* and came away with the win in the Grand Prix Freestyle, which honored the late German trainer George Theodorescu. The pair scored their best ever with an 88.025 percent. Rath and the 12-year-old KWPN stallion earned some 10s for individual movements and even earned scores averaging over 90 percent from individual judges, such as a 96.000 from Dutch judge Ghislain Fouarge.
Placing second was Britain’s Laura Bechtolsheimer riding the 17-year-old geldingĀ Mistral Hojris to a score of 87.600. Third place went to Germany’s Kristina Sprehe and the 11-year-old Hanoverian stallion Desperados 11 with a score of 83.775.
