Yessin Rahmouni Gives Africa Representation at 2012 Olympics
Yessin Rahmouni, a dressage rider from Morocco who trains with Anky van Grunsven, has qualifed to compete in the 2012 Olympics. This ensures that Africa will now have representation in dressage competition. He qualified with help from Floresco NRW, which had previously been a partner of Sweden’s Patrik Kittel. Foresco is an Olympic veteran. Kittel competed with the stallion at the 2008 Olympic Games.
Although Rahmouni was born and lives in the Netherlands, his parents are Moroccan and he got some support from that African nation in his effort to make his first Olympics. Princess Lalla Amina of Morocco bought Floresco and gave Rahmouni the ride with the goal of having Morocco represented at this year’s Olympics. The investment has paid off.
