New England Dressage Association Announces Symposium with Michael Poulin & Carol Lavell
Planning and registration for the 2012 Spring Symposium are under way. NEDA is looking forward to celebrating the upcoming Olympic year with two of the U.S.’s and New England’s own Olympians, Michael Poulin & Carol Lavell.
Not only were our clinicians teammates on the 1992 Bronze Medal Olympic Team in Barcelona, they were and still are teacher and student.
At this year’s Spring Symposium you’ll get to hear what it was like to train for and medal in the Olympics. Poulin & Lavell set a goal of qualifying for an international team and reached their destination together. Through their past experience, we will learn about the relationship of student & teacher in our sport. How does this relationship affect the learning and development of both horse & rider. How do we learn to reach our goals, whether we are training for the top levels or simply for our own personal goals.
The 2012 Spring Symposium will have something for everyone, amateurs and professionals. And, if you have any specific topics you’d like to see covered, please drop the NEDA Education Committee a note. This is your opportunity to help create the educational event. Some of the format will also be driven by the rider applicants, if you have a particular problem that you are trying to work through, consider applying as a demo rider and let the masters help you.
