Rocazino Crowned NEDA Grand Champion in Breed Competition
Saugerties, New York – The six-year-old stallion Rocazino was crowned the overall NEDA Breed Show Champion at the New England Dressage Association’s Fall Festival, held September 13-16 at the HITS-on-the-Hudson show grounds. The 17.1 hand, bay stallion was bred by Heino Lueschen.
The winning stallion is owned by Fie Studnitz Andersen who bought him in Denmark more than a year ago. Studnitz Andersen is a citizen of Denmark but lives in South Hamilton, Mass.
“I bought him and decided to keep him intact. He has already been approved by the American Warmblood Registry and my plan is to get him approved by the other registries when he gets his qualifying scores at Prix St. Georges,” Studnitz Andersen said.
In addition to the Breed Championship, Rocazino won seven other classes at NEDA, both breed classes and competitions at First Level and all with scores in the 70s and 80s. His highest score was an 84.60 earned in Open USDF Prospects in Hand competition.
Studnitz Andersen said she came to NEDA hoping to do well but still, her success was unexpected. “I knew that I had a shot at doing really well but I could not have expected him ever to be as successful as he has been this weekend. It’s just been amazing.”
