WDN News Wrap – USDF Regional 4 Championships End and NEDA Fall Festival/Region 8 Championships Set to Begin

The U.S. Dressage Federation’s Regional Championships are underway. Sponsored by the Great American Insurance Group, the Region 4 Championships – covering the states of North and South Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas and Missouri – took place this past weekend in Mason City, Iowa. The Region 8 Championships are set to begin on Friday in Saugerties, New York.
In Region 4 competition, this year’s champion in the open Prix St. Georges division is Kathryn Fleming-Kuhn and Westerstorm. The Intermediaire I Open champion is Amanda Johnson and Braxton. Johnson and Braxton are also the open Intermediaire II champions. Johnson also earned the open Grand Prix championship title with Toscano. The open Intermediaire Freestyle champions for this year are Kim Barteau and Volontaire. The open Grand Prix Freestyle championship was won by Kristina Wang and Belladiva.

And coming up are the Region 8 Championships being held as part of the New England Dressage Federation’s Fall Festival and Breed Show. The breed show portion kicks off on Thursday with performance divisions beginning on Friday. The NEDA event will combine competition, prize money and lots of fun including a competitor Masquerade Party on Saturday afternoon. For more information visit www.neda.org.
