Pavo Cup Update

(KWPN) – The top horses in the Pavo Cup semi-final earned excellent scores. Although eleven horses scored more than 80 points, the KWPN stallion Charmeur (Florencio out of Trendy elite pref by Jazz, breeder: H. van Helvoirt of Rosmalen) surpassed them all, earning 93 points. The impressive chestnut even scored a 10 for the trot! Duval’s Capri Sonne JR (Rhodium out of Wendela ster by San Remo, breeder: R. van Steijn of Wapse), who captured the bronze medal at the FEI World Breeding Championships for Young Dressage Horses in Verden, was second with 88 points. Third place was for the KWPN stallion Decor Cachet L (Jazz out of Jirondine keur pref prest by Ferro, breeder: J. Lamers of Oss), with 86 points.

The KWPN stallions Connaisseur (4th, s.Con Amore) and Chippendale (8th, s.Lord Leatherdale) also qualified for the final.

On Thursday, the top 25 horses will return to compete in the first evaluation of the final. Afterwards, the three best horses will be ridden by test rider Eva Möller, the winner of the 2012 FEI World Breeding Championships for Young Dressage Horses in the five-year-old division. She will award each horse a score, which will be factored into the final results to determine the 2012 Pavo Cup winner.
