In Memory of Louise Woof: 1957-2012

(British Dressage) – Louise Woof was renowned throughout the equestrian world for being the pioneer of the world famous ‘Woof Boot’ – the first brushing boot to be made from neoprene. This was a major modernisation of traditional leather boots. The Woof Boot brought protection to the horse, but was light, hard-wearing and easy to care for.

Louise developed the idea after many years working with horses of all disciplines. It is with no doubt one of the leading brands within any yard and her legacy will continue for many generations to come.

Louise was also the founder of Maximillian Stud. She established the stud with the objective of breeding and producing competition horses of the highest calibre. The stud produced young stock and ridden horses, which had a great number of successes with amateur and professional riders alike and this success still continues. Her prominent stallions included Maximillian Saluut and Maximillian Voltucky.

Louise suffered with Multiple Sclerosis for many years, not that she ever let her illness get in her way. She sadly passed away on Thursday 5th July 2012. There is no doubt that she will be remembered for her incredible strength of character and passion for her horses.

The Funeral will be held at North Devon Crematorium on Wednesday the 25th July 2012 at 2pm. Family flowers only but donations if desired to the Multiple Sclerosis Trust via:-
