European Dressage Championships for Young Riders and Juniors – Team Wins for Germany and The Netherlands

At the European Dressage Championships for Young Riders and Juniors in Berne, Switzerland, Germany took the win in Young Rider Team competition and The Netherlands took the win in the Junior Team competition.

Germany was able to keep the leading position they had after Day 1 and their first two riders until the end of the Young Riders Team Competition Young Riders. Germanys third and fourth rider, Charlott-Maria Schürmann (Burlington) and Sanneke Rothenberger (Wolke Sieben), scored very good results of 74.105% and 75.026% to help their team to win the Gold medal. On Day 2, the Danish team made a powerful leap forward and came from sixth place into the position for the Silver medal. In particular, it was Cathrine Dufour and the eight years old Atterupgaards Cassidy who gave their team a big boost with a score of 76.290%. The Bronze medal went to the team from Holland. Switzerland had to settle for tenth place when Andrina Suter (Popcorn II) performed not quite as expected and with no result to delete because of the drop out of Sophie Aiko Müller due to her horses injury.

The Netherlands Takes Junior Team Win

On her 11-year old Rohdiamant-son DJ Tiesto, Dana van Lierop decided with the best result of the Day (77.405 %) the battle for Gold between Germany and the Netherlands. The Dutch team was able to beat Germany by 2.783 points. The best German Duo, Vivien Niemann and Wirsol’s Cipollini, reached 74.216%. With a solid team performance, the danish Juniors rode to Bronze. Also with a well-balanced performance, but in the range between 64 and 65%, the Swiss junior team finished on the 9th Rank.
