New Zealand Rider Vanessa Way Out of Olympic Contention
New Zealand media has reported that dressage rider Vanessa Way is out of the running to represent her country at the 2012 Olympics. Way had to withdraw from the Hartpury Festival of Dressage in England, her last qualifying competition for the Olympics, because her horse, KH Arvan, has come up lame. That leaves just Louisa Hill representing New Zealand in dressage competition at the Olympics.
Way and Arvan needed two more scores of 66.00 percent or higher to make the Olympic team. The lameness problem appears to be in Arvan’s foot.
