Ashley Holzer Takes Blue in All Three CDI Grand Prix Classes at Allentown CDI3*
It was an Ashley Holzer weekend at the this weekend’s Eastern States Dressage and Combined Training Association (ESDCTA) CDI3* in Allentown, New Jersey. The Canadian rider nabbed multiple ribbons in CDI Grand Prix competition with two horses. She took first in the CDI Grand Prix with Breaking Dawn and a score of 71.191. And she also took second with Pop Art and a score of 70.021. Placing third was Cesar Parra riding Van the Man to a score of 66.128.
Holzer and Breaking Dawn also won the Olympic Grand Prix Special with a score 72.978. Parra and Van the Man took second with a score of 65.489. Third place went to Elisabeth Austin and Olivier with a score of 63.667. In the CDI Grand Prix Freestyle, Holzer took the win with Pop Art and a score of 71.625. Susanne Hassler took second place riding Harmony’s Baroncelli to a score of 65.750.
Heather Mason and Christopher Hickey battled it out for top placing in CDI Prix St. Georges and CDI Intermediare competition at this weekend’s ESDCTA CDI3*. Mason, on her home turf in New Jersey, took the win in the Intermediaire I and in the Intermediare Freestyle with Warsteiner. The pair scored a 70.877 in the Intermediaire I and a 74.583 in the Freestyle. The pair placed second in the Prix St. Georges behind Hickey and Witness Hilltop, the winners with a score of 70.000.
Hickey and Witness Hilltop came in second in both Intermediaire classes, scoring a 67.719 in the Intermediaire I and a 69.833 in the Freestyle. Hickey also earned an impressive score of 86.000 in the FEI Young Horse Test of Choice with Qredit Hilltop riding the USEF Test for 4-Year-Old horses.
