Roosendaal CDIYPJ: British riders in the frame
(British Dressage) – British dressage was well represented by Junior and Young Riders at Roosendaal CDIYPJ over the weekend (4 – 6 May). The competition, held at Den Goubergh in the Netherlands encompassed both team and individual classes for Ponies, Juniors and Young Riders. A total of 12 British combinations made the trip, and these upcoming dressage riders of tomorrow produced some promising results.
14-year-old Erin Williams did particularly well, coming first in the CDIO Ponies Team Championship on the striking palamino mare, Dynasty. They produced a fantastic test to take the top spot with 72.73%, with just 0.04% separating the British pair from second placed Dutch rider Sanne Vos on Champ of Class. The rest of the British Team included Maisie Scruton and Rembrandt DDH, Bethany Horobin and Gigiolo and Robyn Smith with Siepke’s Celtic. Their combined performances secured third place for the team overall, just behind the Netherlands and Germany.
In the CDIO Ponies Individual – a very close run test, Maisie Scruton and Rembrandt were 5th (69.63%) with Erin and Dynasty in 8th with 69.18%. Dynasty also performed well in the CDIO Pony Kur as she and Erin took second place to the Dutch combination that they beat in the Team competition. Maisie Scruton and Rembrandt came sixth.
