(British Dressage) – Another week, another record broken! This time Carl Hester and Uthopia broke the British Grand Prix record at Addington Premier League on Wednesday, scoring 83.29%.

This was Uthopia’s first outing since recovering from an injury to his hoof and the 11-year-old Metall gelding showed he was back on form, looking happy and healthy as he produced a great test. It was a successful visit to Addington for Carl as he also took second place in the same class on Fiona Bigwood’s Wie Atlantico as well as PSG and Inter I on Douglas IV. Charlotte Dujardin, fresh from her triumph in Hagen was second in the same Inter I class with Carl and Anne Cory’s Don Archie .

There was a close contest in the Grand Prix Special, as just 0.18% separated the scores of Ruth Hurst (Latin Lover on 66.88%) and Mette Assouline (Forrest Gump on 66.70%) in first and second place. Inter II was another close call but Peter Storr and Belmondino just edged into first place on 68.37%, only 0.17% ahead of Michael Eilberg and Marakov. Michael had a successful competition overall as he also won one of the PSG classes on the 12-year-old Torino (69.73%) and took third place on Woodlander Dornroeschen (71.18%) in Tuesday’s Inter I class. Other PSG winners were Spencer Wilton and Doogie, and Andrew Gould and Mitchells Santorini Hit.

There was further success for the Eilbergs in Wednesday’s Inter I for Maria and the 10-year-old Rotspon stallion Woodlander Rockstar with 70.59%. Issobel Wessels and the Contendro gelding Chagall took first place in the other Inter I class on Tuesday (72.98%), with Emile Faurie and Corbiere in second. Matt Frost and AMD Don Rosso II scored 73.61% for first place in the Advanced Medium Freestyle to Music.

Olivia Towers came first in the Prix St George Freestyle to Music and also in the Young Riders Team Class with Mercian Flyaway Wish. Ryan Todd won the Individual Young Riders scoring 67.30% with Charlex Eskebjerg and Daniel Busbridge took the Junior Individual on Regal Destiny.

In the Young Horse classes Cashmir and Anders Dahl scored 89.60% to take first place in the Shearwater five-year-old class. Dan Sheriff also booked his place at Hartpury by winning the four-year-old class with Dance of Decadence. Other winners were Kerry Mackin and Fatal Attraction in National five-year-old, Nicola Lickley with Ber St in National six-year-old, Becky Moody and Carinsio in five-year-old International and Ryan Todd and Rembrandt II in six-year-old International.
