Britain’s Charlotte Dujardin and Valegro Win Grand Prix for the Special at Hagen CDI4*

Germany – British rider Charlotte Dujardin rode the 10-year-old KWPN gelding Valegro to victory in Friday’s Grand Prix for the Special at the Horses and Dreams Hagen CDI4*. The pair scored an 81.426 percent, well ahead of the second place team of Isabell Werth, of Germany, and Don Johnson 14. Werth and the 10-year-old Hanoverian gelding scored 76.511. Third place went to Anabel Balkenhol riding the 12-year-old Hanoverian gelding Dablino to a score of 75.404.

Also competing in the class was American Shawna Harding. She and the 13-year-old gelding Come On III finished in 20th place with a score of 66.149, missing the qualification cut off for the Grand Prix Special.

In national level grand prix competition. Germany’s Bianca Kasselmann and the 16-year-old Oldenburg gelding Weltclassiker earned blue in the national Grand Prix Special with a score of 71.042. Second place went to Max Wadenspanner, of Germany, and the 11-year-old gelding Bandor with a score of 68.375. Third place went to German rider Insa Hansen and the 16-year-old gelding Calvados 126 with a score of 68.167.
