It’s been announced that Dutch rider Madeleine Witte-Vrees lost her Grand Prix partner yesterday when the 10-year-old Shooting Star died of colic. The pair had been doing well in international competition this past year. The horse was taken in for colic surgery Tuesday evening but it was unsuccessful. Witte-Vrees had owned the horse since he was a foal.
