(Global Dressage Festival) – Wellington, Florida - The Anja Plönzke Clinics, presented by the Global Dressage Festival (GDF), began on Thursday in the International Arena at the Stadium show grounds of the Global Dressage Festival.  Carol Cohen of Two Swans Farm in Wellington, FL was the first to participate in the clinic riding her ten-year-old mare Sam’t Und Seide.  Cohen was thrilled with the experience. 

“It was fantastic! Anja was very informative and she treated me like a professional,” said Cohen.  “She pushed me to make sure that everything was executed correctly and I really appreciated that.  It was also a great opportunity to take an inexperienced horse into the International Arena.  As an amateur rider I might never have an opportunity to ride in that arena, so I recommend to anyone that if you get that opportunity, do it!”

Plönzke is a renowned international dressage trainer and competitor who has enjoyed a successful career in dressage.  In 2011, she won the prestigious World Dressage Masters (WDM) Nurnberger Award riding her current horse Le Mont d’Or.  The Nurnberger Award is given to the rider receiving the most points in the WDM Series.  For the last twelve years Anja has been in the German B Cadre, which means that she consistently ranks in the top seven in Germany.  Anja has shown successfully in Munich, Frankfurt, and Wiesbaden, GER; Vienna and Salzburg, AUT; Falsterbo, SWE; and Wellington, FL.  She and Le Mont d’Or are currently 33 in the FEI World Dressage Rankings.

The $120,000 5* West Palm Beach, presented by Diamante Farms, and National Show is almost here!  This prestigious event takes place March 29- April 1 and features the only CDI5* in North America.  The FEI Grand Prix class will be held on Thursday, March 29 and the FEI Olympic Grand Prix Special on Friday, March 30 in the morning.  The FEI Grand Prix Freestyle will be held on Friday evening beginning 7:30 PM.
