Richard Davison and Hiscox Artemis Qualify for World Cup Final
(British Dressage) – Richard Davison and the Countess of Derby’s Hiscox Artemis have qualified for the Reem Acra FEI World Cup™ Final in ‘s-Hertogenbosch, The Netherlands from 18-22 April 2012.
As the highest placed Brits in the Reem Acra FEI World Cup™ Dressage Standings, Davison and the 13 year old Florestan gelding put in a stunning performance at Sweden’s Göteborg CDI-W to take up second in the freestyle on 75.850% behind Patrik Kittel and Toy Story, and third in the grand prix with 70.298%.
Davison said, “I had a good time and a great ride and it would have been nice to win in Patrik Kittel fan-land,” he joked. “Did you notice I did a deliberate mistake for all of Sweden because I didn’t think I’d get out of their alive if I won.” He added, “It’s never easy fighting for a place in a World Cup Final and this year has been particularly strong, but Hiscox Artemis has been consistently highly placed in all the qualifiers.”
