WDN Weekend News Wrap – Three Grand Prix Wins for Polish Rider Katarzyna Milczarek at Wroclaw CDI
By Lynndee Kemmet – Polish riders dominated the competition on their home turf during the Wroclaw CDI. The show drew Grand Prix riders from across Europe as well as several from Asia and North Africa, but it was Polish rider Katarzyna Milczarek who took the blue ribbons in the Grand Prix, Grand Prix Special and in the Freestyle.
The top three places in the Grand Prix went to Polish riders. Milczarek and Ekwador took first with a score of 72.957. Second place went to Beata Stremler riding Martini to a score of 72.638 and finishing in third was Michal Rapcewicz riding Randon to a score of 71.170. Milczarek finished fourth with Florencia B and a score of 72.067. That pair then went on to win the Grand Prix Special with score of 69.745.
Taking second in the Grand Prix Special was Australia’s Hayley Beresford riding Belissimo to a score of 69.467. Moroccan rider Yessin Rahmouni took third with Floresco and a score of 68.333.
Milczarek earned a third Grand Prix win in the Freestyle with Ekwador and a score of 77.475. Stremler and Martini took second with a score of 76.125 and Rapcewicz and Randon finished third on a score of 74.725. Fourth place wen to the Japanese pair of Mieko Yagi and Charming with a score of 70.525.
And in Spain at the CDI in Vejer de la Frontera, Gonçalo Carvalho and Rubi rode away with the blue ribbon in the CDI Grand Prix Freestyle with a score of 77.650. Second place went to Jessica Michel and Riwera de Hus with a score of 76.625. And in third was José Daniel Martin Dockx and Grandioso with a score of 73.900.

Danish rider Lars Petersen, who is based in Florida, is already showing success with his Blue Hors’ partner. Petersen and Blue Hors’ Hanoverian gelding Gredstedgårds Casmir won a national-level Grand Prix in Florida last week in their first outing. Petersen dedicated the win to his father, Neils Enjar, who passed away right before the show.
