Dressage Stars Flock to Hickstead CDIO3*

British Dressage
Today marks the start of this week’s international fixture at Hickstead (16 – 19 July 2015), with 57 riders from 14 countries with 65 horses flocking to West Sussex to compete in classes across small tour and big tour levels.
The event also plays host to the final leg of the FEI Nations Cup series (CDIO), with countries looking to grab some last minute points to boost their final placing. Germany is currently top of the table with 24 points, followed closely behind by the Netherlands with 22 and USA with 21. Although GBR aren’t in the race for the top spot – we’re currently lying in joint eighth with six points – a maximum ten points for winning the team competition at Hickstead could see us move up to fourth place.
The nominated British team consists of Henriette Andersen with Warlocks Charm, Alice Oppenheimer with Headmore Delegate (pictured), Hayley Watson-Greaves with WG Rubins Nite and Spencer Wilton with Numberto. As the competition is the final leg, there is a extraordinary twist, as both the grand prix and special count towards the final result.
Hickstead is also holding a CDI, featuring big and small tour levels, plus international competitions for pony (CDIP), junior (CDIJ) and young riders (CDIYR).
Tickets for the competition can be purchased on the gate. For more information and to keep up-to-date with results, click here.
