Kassie Barteau Rides a $1 Horse to The Horse Of Course High Score Award at Adequan Global Dressage Festival 3 CDIW
Interesting story about our friend, Kassie Barteau Kuz!
Wellington, FL (January 31, 2014) - Kassie Barteau Kuz was going to have just one day off from work to show Aramo, the nine year-old bay gelding she had bought for a dollar, and she made it count, winning their Fourth Level Test 2 with a final score of 74.459% and earning The Horse of Course, Inc. High Score Award on Saturday for the Adequan Global Dressage Festival GDF3 CDIW series.
Barteau, who works at Al Marah Arabians in Claremont, FL and is headed from Wellington for Scottsdale to show at the one of the most spectacular breed shows in the world, keeps her 17-hand Dutch (United x Triancacara) warmblood at the Arabian farm.
“We have a good bond,” Barteau says of the horse that, she confesses, she indeed did get for a dollar. “We just moved up to Fourth Level last week, so I’m really happy with how things went. He’s an impressive horse. We’ve been working together for three and a half years.”
With her ticket already reserved for a spectator’s seat in Normandy for the World Equestrian Games, Barteau isn’t in a hurry with Aramo’s progress. “I only get to show him on my own time, which is one or two days a week. Hopefully next year we can look at making a Small Tour.”
