World Class British Entry for Hickstead CDIO/CDI/P/J/Y

From: British Dressage

Britain has put a substantial definite entry forward for this year’s international Hickstead fixture, 1 – 4 August, which features the final leg of the inaugural FEI Nations Cup DressageTM plus CDI3*/P/J/Y.    Eight teams are entered including the top three in the standings, namely the Netherlands, Sweden and Germany, Britain are currently fifth.

Britain’s team includes two combinations recently selected for the upcoming European Championships in Carl Hester (Uthopia) (pictured at Hickstead in 2011) and Laura Tomlinson (Mistral Hojris) plus rider Michael Eilberg, but he partners Marakov, not his ride for Denmark, Half Moon Delphi. Gareth Hughes completes the quartet with DV Stenjkers Nadonna.

With 10 points for a win at 3* level, there’s all to play for to win this exciting new initiative.

In the CDI, spectators will have the chance to see double Olympic champions Charlotte Dujardin and Valegro in action. Plus, Carl Hester will ride Fine Time 13 as well as some of Britain’s other top combinations.

There’s a great showing from our youth riders with a range of newcomers to riders fresh from representing Britain at last week’s Junior and Young Rider European Championships in France.

Due to the amazing entry, the CDI and CDIO grands prix will take place over Thursday and Friday with the CDI Special on Saturday and the FEI Nations CupTM Freestyle on Sunday. The small tour classes are; Thursday – Prix St Georges, Friday – Inter I and Sunday – Inter I Freestyle. The Pony, Junior and Young Rider classes all run Thursday to Saturday.
